Mission before technology
KADEF advances dignity and opportunity through community engagement, inclusion and responsible partnerships. Our education direction combines direct support for children with stronger schools and responsible digital tools. Technology supports delivery and accountability; it does not replace the Foundation’s development mission.
The education direction
The 2027–2031 education strategy is a consultation draft. Its proposed outcomes are access, retention and quality: helping children enter or return to school, remain enrolled and benefit from stronger teaching and school systems. Girls facing exclusion and underserved children remain central.
A phased learning pathway
The draft proposes initial cohorts and baseline reporting in 2027; expansion where adoption and support capacity justify it in 2028; deeper institutional partnerships and evaluation in 2029; assessment of selected cross-border pilots in 2030; and a learning and sustainability review in 2031. These are planning directions subject to institutional approval, country readiness and resources, rather than announced school targets or funded commitments.
Six connected priorities
Education works alongside health, water and sanitation, protection, governance and democracy, and peacebuilding. School participation must respond to community needs and safeguarding responsibilities. KADEF’s ambition across Africa does not mean that operations or school onboarding are available in every country today.
Accountability and institutional strengthening
Programme reporting will distinguish direct education support, observed school outcomes and platform adoption. Operator360 is a separate institutional-strengthening platform acquired by KADEF, with exclusive product rights held by the Foundation. Its technical integration and functionality are assessed separately. It is not part of SkoolTime or a substitute for KADEF’s other programmes.
