Her childhood. Her choices. Her future.
International Day of the Girl 2026: protect childhood, keep learning possible, and make room for girls to lead.

International Day of the Girl · 11 October 2026
The United Nations’ 2026 observance calls for an end to child marriage and investment in girls’ rights. For KADEF, this is a call to keep childhood, education and choice at the centre of community conversations.
A girl’s future should stay in her hands
A classroom is a place to ask questions, build friendships and imagine a life beyond the pressures of today. Conflict and displacement can interrupt that possibility. Disability, poverty and exclusion can make participation harder still.
Listen before deciding
Girls must have a voice in the issues that affect them. Safe, age-appropriate participation helps institutions understand barriers that adults may overlook. Their priorities should shape advocacy, public education and future programme design.
Protection and learning belong together
KADEF’s education and protection priorities meet at a simple commitment: dignity. We are developing our work around community engagement, responsible partnerships and evidence, with attention to girls affected by crisis and exclusion.
A place for your support
You can choose the education thematic fund from USD 2, share this perspective, or discuss an institutional partnership. Gifts contribute towards KADEF’s thematic work; they are not a promise that a particular amount purchases a school place or a defined service.
Beyond one day
The calendar marks a moment. The commitment must last longer. Let girls’ voices stay in the conversation, in the classroom and in the decisions that shape their future.
